Santa Clara County
Santa Clara County comprises the major portion of that Northern California region recognized around the world by its nickname Silicon Valley. In the post-WW2 era, Santa Clara County grew as an agricultural region, with apricot or cherry orchards dotting its wide open spaces. Few orchards are left today, as most of the county has become industrialized around the technology revolution of the last forty years of the 20th century.
